home on Kiawah for the week of 23-30 Nov. We need at least 4
bedrooms. Any help? Thanks, B Absher in NC My fiance` and I are planning to come to
Kiawah Island for our honeymoon Nov. 12th- Nov. 15th 2002. Any
ideas? We used to visit Kiawah back in the 90's
while living in Knoxville,TN, we had only 2 children at the
time. We have now relocated to Atlanta after having moved with
my husband's job to several locations too far to vacation in
Kiawah and we are now anxious to get back to Kiawah. Our family
has grown to total 6 now and upon research found that Kiawah
rentals have skyrocketed. We would love to visit during
Thanksgiving or Christmas but need help finding reasonable
rentals. Thank you, I have a friend who is interested in a
condo or house at Kiawah Island....she has a dog...very well
behaved...where can they stay? My fianc?and I are planning our
honeymoon. It will not be a full week's stay. We are getting
married on June 2. Any ideas? I would like to get married on Kiawah
Island this year. Can anyone give me information so I can get
the ball rolling? Places, accommodations, etc. We're not looking
for anything extravagant; just something small to hold the
ceremony and reception for about 50 people, give or take. Please
let me know if you have info. Thank you. We are planning to visit Kiawah Island
beginning May 6, 2001. We have reservations for a Seascape Villa
on West Beach Village. We would appreciate any information,
suggestions, etc. I'd like to visit Kiawah Island with my
husband and 2 kids, 8 & 2 in August. The Villas at the Kiawah
Island Resort sound great. Any comment? Places to eat, see? We are thinking about visiting Kiawah
Island this July and would like to stay 2 to 3 nights. Will you
please recommend a nice place we can stay with 2 small children
that is kid friendly and fun. Thanks Please let me know if there are any
campgrounds available on Kiawah Island. Thanks VACATION IS PLANNED FOR 6-21-98. NEW TO
KIAWAH ISLAND. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON MUST SEE ATTRACTIONS. VARIOUS
AGES AND INTERESTS.LOVE THE OUTDOORS AND NATURE. ANY GOOD EATING
SPOTS? Our family is hoping to take a 4-5 day
trip to Kiaway later in this month (June '98) but we don't know
where to begin in finding accomodations. We have 3 children
(boys,11 and 16, and a girl,18) We are looking for reasonable
rates. The children are looking for the beach. Any suggestions?
nposey@abts.net we are looking for a home with 3
bedrooms/3 bathrooms in the vanderhorst plantation, not too far
from the beach with fairway view or lagoon view. We have been to
Kiawah on 2 other occassions with our children - now 18 and 16.
We come from London in Great Britain. Our holiday is planned for
2 weeks between 18th July and 8th August but would like
something for 2 weeks. Please help us. Margaret & Gerry Moes I am interested about the weather on
Kiawah Island mid August. I have spent many vacations on Marthas
Vineyard and are wondering about any comparisons. Is it very
humid or buggy at this time? Are there things for children ages
15 12 and 9 to do? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks Mike
Lipnick We are a family of six (four small
children) and will be visiting Kiawah Island July 18 to 25 and
need round trip transportation from the Charleston airport. Does
anyone know of a shuttle service we can contact? I may be
reached at sam.viviano@zsi.com
We have a family reunion planned July
4-11, 1998 on Kiawah Island. I am looking for a professional
photographer to take a "family beach photo". Does anyone know of
a good local photographer known for beach photos who is not
unreasonably expensive? HELP ! I am OLAL and urgently need info on
Kiawah Island for a family reunion scheduled July 4-11th, 1998.
Great accomodations on Kiawah have been arranged for some time,
and we will be cooking a lot of our own meals, but I need info
on the best reasonably priced family restaurants (read about
Cappys, Privateer, Gilligans -- any updates on those ?),
cheapest bike rentals, generally "best of" Charleston carriage &
walking tours and attractions, and "best of" Island activities
and activities in the surrounding area should some family member
not be captivated by the natural beauty of the island (there's
one in every family). The dolphin thing is news to me -- not in
the brochures I have received. What's the best way to get to see
dolphins ? I read about a Captain Bob (?), any info on him ? All
information is appreciated ! I've been to Kiawah Island 4 times, going
on 5 this summer! It is so fun. My parents, and us 4 kids
(14,12,6,6) are going. I recommend the bike riding on Kiawah's
20+ miles of bike trails. There's so much to see! Also, the
beach and pool are great. Come, and you will not regret it.
Thanks for your time! We are planning our first visit to Kiawah
in July. Have heard great things and we are looking forward to
relaxing, bike riding and touring. Would like a 2 bedroom condo
of some type. My husband and I will be traveling with our 1 year
old twins. Any recommendations on where to stay or not to stay
would be appreciated. We would prefer to have an oceanfront
condo. I am interested in a golf package for two
couples in July or early August. My wife and I visited your
island about 4 years ago, and had the most relaxing week of any
vacation we have taken in 25 years. Housing can be either a
large townhouse with 2 bedrooms or two single bedroom condos. We
would prefer ocean front if possible. Golf is not the most
important reason for our vacation therefor we are looking for a
package that can be flexible. Please contact me at DRJFJ@aol.com.
Thank you, Jim Jackson We are coming to Kiawah Spring/Early
Summer 1998. We have two children and would love recommendations
on good family style or family appropriate restaurants in the
island area including Charleston. Also, is there a need to
reserve bicycles or beach chairs prior to arrival? How is the
kid's camp for a five year old? and finally...what is going on
with the alligators?? We northerns are not used to these lovely
pets. Every time I mention to someone that we are going to
Kiawah, they tell me how beautiful, but they also always mention
the gators???? Please reply to me at RCB123@alltel.net. Thank
you We are visiting Kiawah for the first time
this Memorial Day week. My husband just got a new Waverunner for
his birthday and would like to use it while we are on vacation.
Does anyone know if there is a good place to launch and ride a
Waverunner on Kiawah or close by? Kiawah Island truly is my favorite place
in the whole world. It's beautiful, undeturbed beaches, the
wildlife, the Straw Market, crabbing, bike riding, the blue
herons, etc. Everything about the private dream island makes me
urgent to return. While growing up my aunt and uncle owned a
four story, gorgeous vacation home with beach access. Every
summer we would have a sort of "family reunion". My mother,
father, brother, three aunts on my mom's side, their husbands,
the 8 cousins and my grandmother would all gather together in
this relaaaxed and amazing environment and each be part of a
whole, our whole, our family. I will never forget all of the
wonderful resorters, residnets, and staff members of the
different areeeas around the island, all service and
friendliness was excellent! The little girls dream that has
stuck with me for almost twenty years is to do the same with my
family, to own property, to give my children the fairytale which
I had. Kiawah was, is ! and always will be my castle and
kingdom. My wish is that everyone across the world has the
intense love for some place that makes them feel like the King
or Queen of their life. Kiawah is my place, and I believe you
would feel the same way after visiting. Emily We are making our first visit to Kiawah
Island from June 19-June 26, 1998. We have two families
visiting, including a 16, 12, 8, and 5 year old. We already have
a place to stay, but were looking for some advice on what to do
there and some "must-see" places. Anything will be helpful, as
we are looking forward to the vacation. Thanks! We usually vacation in the Outer Banks of
NC - Duck, to be exact. We could not make our reservations in
time this year because my dad had cancer surgery and we were not
sure if we would be able togo or not. Now there are no cottages
left to rent. someone recommended Kiawah to us. We know nothing
about the iskland but are very curious. We would appreciate any
information. Looking for a nice place to stay the last two weeks
of July. Thanks. MMCESKY@AOL.COM We are getting Married on September 6th
and want to honeymoon on the island. We hope to find a
relatively secluded oceanfront rental home (not a condo or
townhouse) that isn't too huge - less than 3 bedrooms. Any
ideas? 4-20-98 We are planning a 2 week vacation
on Kiawah Is. Need 2 bedroom, 2 bath oceanfront condo, townhouse
or rental unit completely furnished for 3 adults, (ages 57, 58
and 78), starting Aug.22 1998, but we are flexible on dates. We
have rented condos in-- Southwest Harbor, Maine, Mont Tremblat,
Canada, Stowe, Vermont, Aspen and Telluride, Colorado, Pebble
Beach, California, We would appreciate any ideas on where to
stay, (and where NOT to stay), on Kaiwah Island. Anyone who loves Kiawa!, My family and I
are Planning our first trip to Kiawa this summer. We are
planning to go in august ( 1st - 8th). I have heard many
wonderful things about peoples overall experiences but not a
whole lot on specific things we might want to try. I.E. -
restaurants, activities, entertainment. We are bringing our two
year old as well as two other couples with teenagers. I also
plan to play some golf. Can you recommend any specific courses.
Does the Island offer any packages if you play all the courses?
My wife loves to bike ride. Ant specific places we should ride?
Is it very crowded on the island this time of year? Is their
anything we should definitely bring to make our trip more
enjoyable? Any info. adressing these questions would be helpful.
Send to this e-mail address or mail to SONNY BARRETT 936

Planning to visit Kiawah for a week in
August. We have 3 children (5, 3 and 6 months). Looking for very
nice place to stay that would be convenient to beach/pool and
any other services our children/family would enjoy. Need 3-4
bedrooms. I cannot begin to say enough about Kiawah.
Only last spring I visited the quaint Island with a close friend
over Spring Break of 1997. It's natural beauty and charm left
quite an impression on me; And I am happy to report that I shall
be spending my next Spring Break there also! Elizabeth Davis,
London, KY Me,my husband,3 year old daughter,and
Grandparents are planning to visit Kiwah Island for our first

condo, villa,or house.Would like short walk to beach due to our 3

Owner of villa in FairWay Oaks (1350); why
can't we eliminate some of this material? 1997??? way outdated.
I've tried to enter information on the island before, don't know
where it went? It was about how we came to buy on Kiawah and how
our two "Goldens" love to go each night up to the Straw Market
and get their Yogart. 04/03/98 R. McBride. Back on the 22nd. of
this month. Look for Katie & Charlie at the Market. Actually, I'm in need of finding out what
kind of hotels there are in the kiawah area, preferably
beachfront. I'am having a hard time finding any info on the web.
Please, if anybody knows of a web-site or has personal
experience, please e-mail me back ant the above address 4-2-98
We also visited Kiawah 4 years ago with
the intent of buying a Villa, which we did Why, we have a Golden
Retreiver that loves the beach. Now we have two but it bothers
me when I see people not pick up after their dogs. That is why
dogs are not allowed, except for property owners. Rosebank
Farms, Shem Creek, The Inn at Kiawah and of course Charleston
has too many to mention. We will be on the Island late April and
for about three weeks this Oct. 98 You will see the dogs most
night getting their Yogart at the Straw Market My family and I are staying at Mariner's
watch in early July, 1998. Anyone who's stayed in this condo
please let me know your comments, good or bad. Thanks! We are looking to rent a house for a week.
We have vacationed at Kiawah before with local accomodations,
but we would love to rent a romantic getaway for two - something
much more private. We absolutely prefer a house on the beach, if
at all possible. We are very responsible adults, ages 40 and 36,
and very clean and respectful of other people's homes. Price is
a consideration - but not the only consideration. Thank you for
any reply. God bless. Best regards, Michael & Patty mascherrer@aol.com
Do you know of a tea plantation which
sells tea located in your area. If you do, would you please tell
me the name and location of the company. Thank-you We love Kiawah. Planning our 3rd visit
with our 2 teens plus 2 in early April, 1998. I need simple info
for tours in Charleston. Buggy tour or bus tour, or
otherwise-what is best for getting good overview? We really love
Kiawah- our 18 year old especially always likes going back. I
think the crabbing hooked us!! Going to Kiawah March 16 to 24.Are there
any inexpensive places to golf ?Is there a good family type
restaurant in Charleston with local food?Thought Magnolia's was
overpriced and overrated but interesting and the Seafood eatery
downtown was tasty..Nathon's ? M.C. My fiance and I are interested in renting
a beachfront house or condo from May 18-24 for our honeymoon.
Any offers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My wife and I spent our honeymoon on
kiawah Island in september of 1981 , we may be looking for a
nice time there again this fall 1998 or for spring break of
1999. Any ideas out there for us. Two couples looking for oceanfront
accomodations on Kiawah Island around May 18th for 2 or 3
nights. Would appreciate any recomendations. Husbands play golf,
wives do lunch, shop and beach! Thanks. Looking for info on an easter family
vacation. Heard about Kiawah but have never been. We have two
teenage kids. Any suggestions as to what to do and where to stay
? We also fell in love with Kiawah &
Charleston 5 years ago. When we stood on the beach in October,
no one in sight, 80 F. Jan said,"wouldn't Katie love to run this
beach". Katie is our "Golden", Charlie now runs with her when
the turtles aren"t nesting. You will normally see them setting
on our deck when you head for the property owners pool. We have
a beautiful 3bed/3bath unit at 1350 Fairway Oaks,100 yds to the
pool. We rent only locally in the Toledo area and will more then
likely remove from market completely for 99 . Retirement is soon
and Kiawah is ever closer, Jan will end up with classes at
Wharton.Maybe I'll cut grass , I,m easy. Our family has returned to Kiawah for the
past seven Easter vacations. My three teenagers have fallen in
love with Kiawah. We usually stay at Night Heron, but this year
we will be enjoying our newly purchased cottage at Inlet Cove.
The best secret of Kiawah. Enjoy the dolphins, swimmingpool,
dock onthe river. Try walking the river bed to the ocean at low
tide. Make sure to take your binoculars with you. Drop me a line
to here more about Inlet Cove. My wife and I are looking for a 1 bedroom
oceanfront or oceanview villa for several days surrounding May
11. Thanks, Chris We would like to plan a vacation at Kiawah
the end of July. We are looking to rent a 3 bedroom home for a
week or two. Do you have any recommendations? Need large home to rent the week of July

I am looking for fishing information--not
charters or deep sea. I am wondering what kind of fishing is
recommended and what kind of permits/licenses are necessary. My husband and I visit Kiawah quite often.
In fact we were just there in November of 1997 for my birthday,
and we are planning another trip there in June of this year. It
is the most wonderful place. The Island is so private and
beautiful. Everything about Kiawah is great. I have never had a
bad experience there. The shopping in Charleston is a lot of
fun, just be sure and wear your walking shoes when you go to
Charleston, because there is a lot to see. If you don't want to
leave the Island, you don't have to because the restaurants on
the Island are great. I know this is a long E-Mail, but I can't
say enough about Kiawah, and I can't wait until June comes so I
can be on my way. Have a blessed day. Thank you Planning a vacation to Kiawah Island the
week of May 16th thru the 23rd. Would like to rent a home with
at least 4 bedrooms, 3 baths and a private pool. Also as close
to the beach as possible. Anyone knowing of such a place,
contact me at OHLEEJUDY@aol.com. Thanks. My husband and I would like to stay in
Kiawah the nights of 2/27 and 2/28. We would prefer an
acoenfront villa. Any recommendations? You can reach me at
anisol@shore.net. Thanks Kathy Bucholska 1/11/98 Previous Comments (pre-January 1998)
